Donations and fundrasing money help maintain the building, pay for the land lease and maintain the Coolin Community Park.
The CCO has an annual fundraising event, Priest Lake Spring Festival. Funds raised during this event are also donated back to local organizations.
The Coolin Civic Organization hosts events through out the year such as Monthly Potlucks, the Spring Festival, Ice Cream Social, Trunk sale, and the Dickensheet Highway Spring Clean-up.

CIVIC HISTORY
The Coolin Civic building is approximately 1,250 sq feet.
The land it sits on is owed by Idaho Department of Lands and is leased endowment land.
The building dates back to 1914 when it was constructed in Sandpoint.
It was moved to Coolin in the early 1920's and opened up as the first Priest Lake school.
The school was closed in the 1950's and abandoned as a school house.
In 1961 it was opened as a priest lake Community Building.
The building was supported by the Grange until 1960 when the Coolin Civic Organization (CCO) took over the building.
In 1996 Bonner County School District gave the building to Coolin Cavanaugh Bay Fire Protection District. the CCO has leased the building from Coolin Fire since.
there is a chance the leased land will be auctioned by the state.
Coolin Park
The 1.61 Acre Coolin Community Park was Donated by the Langley’s with advice and finacial support from Coolin CIvic Organization, People Helping People, Kaniksku Lions Club, and the Scott Atkins Memorial Fund and many others. They agreed with Maria Montessori’s Statement that Play is the essential work of childhood. It is how children learn what no one else can teach them.
WIth hard work the park was cleared for a basketball court, playground, parking lot and had a snow hill created and well drilled.
It was established that the
Coolin Civic Organiztion would maintain the Park.
We invite you to Volunteer or Donate to our park funds.
